Rosalinda Melena, KI4ZKW  - President

Having served as Vice President in 2010, Rosalinda will serve a second year on DARC Board as your President.  Rosalinda received her Technician license in September 2007 and along with her husband, Steve Smith KI4YOP, currently holds a General Class license.  She is an active member of the Air Force MARS program.  She is a VHF net control operator and has received Air Force MARS HF NCS certification.  She also participates in the annual Armed Forces Day cross band exercises at Huxtable Pumping Station.  Rosalinda is an HLS/EMA Reservist, a member of the Shelby County Health Department Medical Reserve Corps and ARES.  She has completed numerous FEMA courses, CERT training and American Red Cross CPR Plus (Adul/Child) AED training.  Rosalinda brings extensive organizational and team building skills to the Delta Club.  You can contact Rosalinda via email at ki4zkw@gmail.com, or by clicking this link.


Richard Martin, K4DXF - Vice President

This is Richard's first year on the Board.  He holds a General Class license after earning his Technician license in April 2008 from Tech Class 4-08.  He enjoys public service events and has been a net controller for the nightly Delta Club net.  He is retired from BellSouth.  You can contact Richard by email at k4dxf@att.net or by clicking this link.


Bill Stevens, WC9S - Secretary

Bill is serving his third term on the board in the last four years after taking a year off in 2010.  Bill previously served as Treasurer in 2008 and 2009.  Bill has been a licensed amateur radio operator and an active member of the Delta Club since March 2007 after attending Tech Class 2-07.  He attended General Class 4-07 and Extra Class 1-08 earning both his General Class and Extra Class licenses.  Bill was the recipient of the Delta Club's New Ham of the Year award in 2007.  He is also Delta Club's VE LIaison for ARRL license testing and is also a WCARS VE.  He has been an Elmer in the Technician and General Class training classes for three years.  Bill enjoys public service events, slow scan TV, satellite communications and attending hamfests, including Dayton.  He is an AMSAT member.  Bill is also a Public Health Reserve Corps Volunteer for the Memphis and Shelby Health Department and lead ham volunteer at Baptist Hospital Collierville.  He is active in ARES and is a trained CERT instructor.  You can contact Bill via email at wc9s@att.net or by clicking this link.


Rick Tillman, WA4NVM - Treasurer

Rick is serving as Treasurer for his second term.  He is an Advanced Class license holder. Rick was first licensed  as a Conditional Technician in 1976.  He is a life member of both ARRL and AMSAT. Rick enjoys working the satellites with just a dual band handheld radio and a handheld antenna. He has VUCC and WAS on satellites and 6 meters. He has worked the September VHF/UHF Contest for many years from Mt. Nebo, AR.  He has assisted the Director of Training as an Elmer and facilitator for many of the classes given in the last three years.  He is an FCC VE for both ARRL and WCARS.  He is also a member of ARES and the Tri-State Repeater Association.  He works on many of the repeaters including the new Delta Club ICOM repeater on 146.82.  You can hear him mostly on 220 or 6 meters.  Rick is active in ARES and is the lead ham volunteer at Baptist Hospital Memphis.  He is married to Marilyn N4MGT.  You can contact Rick via email at wa4nvm@comcast.net or by clicking the link here.


Joe Lowenthal, WA4OVO - Director of Training


Joe has been Director of Training for four years, since January 2007.  He is continually brings more great people into the hobby and, hopefully, as Delta Club members in 2011.  Joe has been licensed and a Delta Club member since 1976 after receiving his Conditional Technician license.  He earned his Extra Class license in 2002.  Joe received Delta Club Ham of the Year in 2007.  He was ARRL's primary organizer for the ARRL 2005 Toy Drive warehouse for Katrina refugee children.  He is an ARRL and WCARS VE for FCC testing and ARRL Emergency Communications volunteer examiner. He actively participates in public service events and in ARES as Shelby County Assistant EC for Hospital-Ham Radio Coordination.  He recently got hooked on satellite communications using a handheld radio with CJU antenna for receive and D700 radio for transmitting.  Joe was Shelby County Emergency Coordinator in 1983 and the ham radio coordinator for Memphis area National Weather Service Skywarn from 1976 to 1982.  He is married to Beverly Rauch, W4BBJ.  You can contact Joe via email at wa4ovo@yahoo.com or by clicking the link here.


Ken Laseter, KI4AOH - Director of Publications

This is Ken's first year on the Board.  He earned his Technician license in 2003, his General Class license in 2008 and his Extra Class license in March 2009.  He was communications coordinator for the 2010 FreeFest and for Delta Club's 2010 Field Day.  He is married to Linda KJ4CTX, who also holds an Extra Class license.  You can contact Ken via email at kmlaseter@laseterinc.com or by clicking the link here.


David Campbell, KD4NOQ - Director of Programs

This is David's second year in his second tour as Director of Programs. He holds an Advanced Class license and has been a ham since 1992. David enjoys transmitter hunting, VHF bands, and holds a VUCC award for satellite contacts. He has been active in the September VHF/UHF contest from Mt. Nebo, AR. Danny Banks, KJ4FXZ - Director of Meetings and Special Events

Danny is serving his first year on the board.  He was in Delta Club's Tech Class 6-08 as a result of his involvement in the Collierville CERT program.  During the Tech class he had a bad motorcycle accident which sent him to The Med.  While in the trauma unit,  Danny studied and was ready for the exam on the same day as the rest of his classmates.  VEs Joe Lowenthal, Bill Stevens and Rick Tillman went to The Med during that August day before the evening class to administer Danny's exam, which he took from his hospital bed.  In October 2008 Danny upgraded to General.  He received the Delta Club's New Ham of the Year in 2009.  Danny is from Savannah, Tennessee and joined the Army upon graduation from high school in 1972 taking basic training at Fort Gordon, Ga.  He retired from the Army as Communications Chief of the Pentagon Technical Control Facility for Pentagon Single Agency Manager under U.S. Army control.  After retirement, he worked repairing computer systems in the Washington, D.C. area prior to returning to Tennessee.  He works for FedEx Services.  Danny enjoys public service events.  He is an instructor in the Collierville CERT program.  You can contact Danny  via email at kj4fxz@arrl.net or by clicking the link here.

Darrell Sheffield, KK4D - W4BS Repeater Trustee

Darrell is serving his fourth year as W4BS repeater trustee.  He served two consecutive terms as President in 2006-2007 and Vice President in 2008.  He previously served as VP in 2005.  Darrell has been a ham since 1993 and holds an Extra Class license.  He is a Major with the Memphis Police Department.
