Delta Club has recently re-joined forces with the West TN Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.  Several club members provided communications for their annual "Walk to Cure Diabetes" held on October 6, 2007.  We look forward to a continued relationship with JDRF.

For many years, Delta Club has worked with the local office of the March of Dimes to provide communications support for their fundraising activities.  The primary fund raising effort each year is their infamous "WalkAmerica" that takes place around the third Saturday in April.  Records date back to at least 1995 in our support of this group, however our work with MOD is probably much longer than that.

Since 2002, Delta Club has worked closely with the Mid-South Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in providing communications for not one, but two events each year.  In the Spring the chapter sponsors a "MS Walk" and in the Fall, there is the annual MS Bike Tour – FedEx Express “Rock-n-Roll” is a 2-day ride of scenic bicycling. Starting from Graceland, Home of the “King” of Rock-n-Roll, the ride is 150 miles of rolling road on the way to Tunica, MS and the Gold Strike Casino Resort.  Delta Club provides communications for all rest stops, SAG trucks, bike repair trucks and other locations as needed.

While St. Jude has only been the title sponsor for the annual Memphis Marathon since 2002, Delta Club members have supported the annual run with communications before and during the event since the early 1990's.  This is probably the largest event that we do each year, in the number of amateur operators required.  It takes around 35-40 radio operators to properly provide the communications support that is needed.  The Marathon is held on the first Saturday of December and currently begins near and finishes inside AutoZone Park in downtown Memphis.  This year's event will be on December 1, 2007.
